金黔在线讯 昨日，有读者向本报新闻热线反映，在今年6月份举行的全国英语四级考试中，当时还在贵阳市实验小学读六年级的12岁女孩杜艺娴考出了511分的高分。

据杜艺娴的妈妈王凤英介绍，她和丈夫都在法院工作，在学习上帮不了女儿的忙。xx年11月，看见别的家长都忙着教孩子学习英语，他们也将女儿送进了贵阳市某英语学校，当时女儿连简单的英文字母都不能熟读，但每天都坚持学习一个小时。3年半下来，杜艺娴凭着自己的天赋和刻苦，拿到了数十个奖励，仅省级以上的就有24个。

今年6月份，抱着试一试的想法，杜艺娴以社会考生的身份参加了全国大学生英语四级考试。让家长和老师都想不到的是，居然拿到了511分的好成绩(总分720分，450分就合格)。

然而，面对成绩，杜艺娴却显得相当坦然。“英语只是我需要掌握的一种技能，它不应该是我的全部。”据杜艺娴介绍，她平时每天只学习1个小时的英语。

“在学校里，她各科成绩都很优秀，是个全面发展的孩子。”如今，杜艺娴在贵阳十七中就读初一。谈及培养孩子的“秘诀”，王凤英说，做家长的要善于发现孩子的进步，并及时给予鼓励，尽量给孩子创造比较宽松的环境。记者在贵阳某高校新闻专业04级60名学生中作了调查，截至目前，在大学英语四级考试中能考得450分以上的学生尚不足一半，而像杜艺娴一样的小学生能取得511分成绩，实属不易。

be patriotic 要爱国

it is the duty of every citizen to make the country rich and poplish this object one must be patriotic (love his country). i consider this an unchangeable truth.

how can a student love his country (be patriotic)? i find my answer very simple and clear. he must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his (the) country in the future. if every student can do according to what i said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.

要使国家富强是每个公民的责任。为了达到此目的，必须爱国。我认为这是一条不易的定理。 一个学生如何才能爱国呢?我发觉答复很简单明了。他必须用功读书并积储知识以便将来服务国家。如果每个学生能按照我所说的去做，国家一定会富强。
