我演讲的题目是《平凡财富》
今天，我站在这里，依然能隐约地想起我学生时代所经历的每一次讲演讲，如果说那时的讲演的内容多是的是激扬文字的话，那么随着年龄的增长，今天的讲演的内容则更多的则是趋于成熟和理性的思考。
当主持人给出这个命题时，我就在仔细品味爱岗、敬业在今天给我们带来怎样的思考以及如何看待这个命题？怎么能在图书馆平凡的工作岗位上实现自我价值呢？我想通过下面的一个故事来诠释它。也许这个故事能给我们在座的各位有所启迪。
故事发生在美国费城，在一个乌云密布，即将大雨倾盆而下的中午时分，人们纷纷四处躲避，在人群中有一位步履蹒跚的老妇人也小步急行来到一家商店的屋檐下避雨，店内的大多数营业员都没有顾及或是忽视了这位衣着简朴的老人，片刻，店内的一位小伙子满脸微笑着走过来说：“夫人，我能为您做点什么吗？”。这位长者微笑着回答道：“谢谢你！”。此时雨越下越大，一会半会没有止停的样子，老人心想在人家店内避雨，不买点什么东西，有点不好意思，老人就在商店内转来转去。还是这位小伙子看出了老人的心思，微笑着走过来说：“夫人，包括您在内只要来到我们店里，就是我们的客人，您买不买没关系，来，我给您搬一把椅子，您坐下休息”。老人充满感激的说“非常感谢你，小伙子！”。约莫两个小时过去了，雨住了，老人临走时，向这位小伙子要了张名片，知道了他的名字叫费利。几天过后，这家商店的老板收到了一封从苏格兰寄来的一封特快专递，寄这封信的人就是那位在此避雨的老人，她是当时美国著名的亿万富翁，钢铁大王安德鲁·卡耐基的母亲。她在信中要求与这家公司合作，同时提供了一揽子合作计划，但指名道姓让那位叫费利的年轻人负责此项业务，并邀请他亲自到苏格兰签订协议。这项合同所带来的利润是这家公司两年利润的总额，同时，也为这位年轻人提供了机会，充分展示了他在经营管理中的才能，很快成为了这个家族企业的合伙人，成为了与安德鲁?卡耐基比肩的人物。
这是一个真实的故事，一个被后人称为经典的故事，故事的名字想必，在座的有人会知道，那就是“平凡与财富”。故事中的主角想必就是那位小伙子，象费利一样幸运的人，在我们平凡工作中遇到这样的机会微乎其微，但我们不能因善小而不为，这种机会永远都会和我们擦肩而过。只有象费利那样热爱自己平凡的工作，无论是什么工作岗位，都要爱岗、敬业。对我来言，我的工作也是平凡的，但我感到，每一个成为我照相机镜头里的人物，每一个成为我文中的主人公，每一项通过我的笔宣传、报道、介绍出去的科研成果，在得到领导的肯定，同志们的赞扬哪怕是一个微笑，就是对我最大的奖赏，就会因此感到快乐和满足。
在我刚到图书馆工作之时，曾经看到过一位读者给图书馆同志写的一幅字，虽然快20年了，甚至这幅字我已不知它现在在图书馆的什么角落，但它上面的一段内容却深深地铭刻于心，这里我想把它讲出来与大家共勉，就算我这次讲演的结束语吧！
“你们就想蚕一样，吃的是蚕叶，吐出的是丝。在平凡的工作岗位上，为他人做嫁衣裳。你们是默默无闻的、无私的奉献者，当成功者站在巅峰迎接鲜花和掌声时，你们才是真正的无名英雄”。
