今天，我读了一篇莫泊桑著名的短篇小说《项链》。这是一个很凄惨的故事。
故事是这样：有一个容貌美丽的女子，因为没钱而没有嫁个富贵的人，而是跟一个教育部的科员结婚了。有一天，那个女子拿到了一张请帖，她看了以后很不想去，因为她没有首饰，那个科员让她去借一个。但是好景不长，她那个首饰弄丢了，没办法她只能和那个科员还钱。十年后，他俩还清了所有的债务，他俩看见了借给女子首饰的人，他俩把还她首饰的经过告诉了她，她告诉他俩这是一个赝品！
我觉得这篇文章里面的女子很悲惨，她为了还清债务，低质量的生活了十年，可怜的她老得连朋友都不认识了。
在生活中，我们不能像女主人公那样爱慕虚荣，比谁吃得好，谁穿得好，谁玩得好，如果这样，命运也会像女主人公那样经不起上天的考验。我们应该踏踏实实地学习和生活，才能经得起上天的考验。
我们不能爱慕虚荣、攀比，要踏踏实实地做事。
